Word Play

I'm a fan. I suppose I can't claim to have never groaned at a forced pun, but I really do appreciate that sort of thing most of the time.

Tonight, I was talking to my roommates about massages and one of them told us about a lady that once gave him a great one.

"She's a really good. . . massager. . . massoose. . ." he said.

"Misogynist," I said. No one laughed. They either didn't get it or didn't think it was funny. Either way, it made me sad.

I think they just didn't get it, because if they got it and they just didn't think it was funny, they would have rolled their eyes or something.

I would have laughed.

They didn't get it. Misogynist is in the book "30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary." Most words in that book are never really used in real life... Unless your real life is the GRE... In which case, I pity you.

I would not like to get a message from a misogynist...

I've repeated this exchange several times, because it still makes me laugh so hard. In fact, I was giving Bob a massage just a few days ago and had to say the whole thing again...and I think I laughed even harder. Thanks for sharing!
